Here and Now: A Day of Experiental Groups
Group 2: "Entering the Heart of Group Psychotherapy" with Corey Flanders, LMHC, CGP
In this group, we will consider the most available doorway to the here and now--our felt connection with our essential nature. Participants will be guided through short (10 minutes) awareness-based meditations at the start of each one and a half hour process group session. Together we will explore what effect this might have on both group content and group process. Do short meditations help participants delve into the present, here-and-now dimension of group? Do they facilitate connection with one's inner emotional experience and/or other group members?
OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to:
-
- Consider what effect simple awareness meditation has on their experience of being a group member.
- Explore whether such experiences increases or decreases their availability to their emotional experience.
- Explore the similarities and differences between the individual and group dimensions of the here-and-now.
